Le Méridien New York, Central Park (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / West New York / New York City, New York / West 57th Street, 120

300-foot, 29-story postmodern hotel completed in 2013 as the Viceroy New York Hotel, renamed Le Meridien in 2019. Designed by Roman & Williams, it is clad in glass, black steel, and dark-grey brick. The hotel's original name was to be the Hotel Willow, but opening as The Viceroy instead. The large hotel behind it on 56th Street (with a narrow wing extending out to 57th) was Le Parker-Meridien at the time, a member of Starwood (now Marriott). In 2018, Marriott backed out and the hotel, renamed The Parker Hotel, switched flags to the Hyatt group. Cut free from a hotel in dire need of renovation, Le Meridien simply moved into the former Viceroy building next door, and became a separate hotel from The Parker.

The facade is divided into five bays of muntined casement windows with small individual panes. Brick end piers frame the bays, and brick spandrels separate each floor.

The double-height ground floor has the main entrance at the east end, with glass double-doors between two sets of more reflective glass double-doors. There are three muntined windows above these doors. To the right is the hotel restaurant, Kingside, with double-height windows framed between a pair of fluted wood pillars. The west end has another glass-doored entrance, with another muntined window above it.

There is a large setback above the 7th floor, and another above the 27th, both fronted by glass railings. The east and west side elevations are concrete, with only a bay of small porthole windows at the front edge. At the top there is a rooftop bar. The hotel has 240 guest rooms.
