The Matsuno Hot Spring is located in the western part of Tokyo. Its only inn is located by the upstream of the Tama River across from Mt. Mitake. Because there are many deep valleys in Okutama, this area is considered to be unique as it is situated on a gentle slope in a fairly wide shore. Chiyogafuchi and Mitake Valley can be found nearby and this area becomes especially beautiful during the cherry blossom and foliage seasons.
It is an alkali sulfur hot spring which feels very slippery, smells like sulfur, and is indeed very relaxing. There is also a place in the bathhouse that lets you enjoy drinking the spring water.

The Nippara Valley's vast nature and Matsuno Hot Spring born from Mt.Kumotori where fireflies still are found can certainly be considered as assets of Tokyo.
