Originally named as Lokmanyanagar Coop Housing Society. Formed in 1959 mainy by four members - Mr. Joshi, Late Mr. Chitari, Late Mr. Ugar, Late Mr. Nijsure.

Due to confusion in similar names of societies (other being Lokmanyanagar, navi peth) it was renamed as Nirmal Baug (this name was brought into use, though the original name is still Lokmanyanagar Coop Housig Society) The society consists of 30 plots/members.
