Highest point of Esrange Space Center.
Hosts a satellite control station, a GPS reference station, a Rayleigh-MieRaman lidar (operated by the University of Bonn) and other various scientific instrumentations.
The balloons telecommand system is also installed at the Radar Hill, which provide a better visibility.
The hill is also used as an observation spot for small sounding rockets launches and balloon releases (the hill is evacuated for larger rockets such as Maxus).

During winter the temperature at the radar hill is generally 10°C higher than in the valley.
