Erez Regiment : Border Crossing Camp

The ‘Gefen : Vine' Brigade, is the northern brigade of the division, and was established a year after the outbreak of the intifada, in 1988, to provide for operational forces created by the concentration on the sector. The division was garrisoned in downtown Gaza , commanding the whole area, as well as the security of Israeli settlements in northern Gaza and the Erez crossing .

After the Oslo Accords and the Gaza and Jericho first agreement in 1994 the IDF moved out of the strip and the brigade evacuated the Gaza City and settled next to Nissanit . The Brigade has two battalions, the larger southern battalion is encamped at the Nahal Oz base close by the Karni crossing point, whilst this battalion remains here on the border at the Erez Gaza crossing point.
