Mable Normand was one of the original Hollywood Comediennes making her film debut at the age of 16 in 1909 and signed a contract with the King of Comedy, Mack Sennett in 1912. She was one of Sennett's primary stars (and his lover) along with Charles Chaplin and Roscoe Arbuckle, and starred in the first feature length comedy, "Tillie's Punctured Romance" with Chaplin.

In 1919 she left Sennett and signed with Samuel Goldwyn at $3,500/week, making her one of the highest paid stars of the era.

Miss Normand died of tuberculosis in 1930.
