A 15-foot abstract steel sculpture, in front of Taylor Hall on the campus of Kent State University.
Sculptor, Don Drumm
On May 4, 1970, the Ohio National Guard opened fire on students protesting the American invasion of Cambodia. Four students were killed and nine others were wounded. During the shooting, a bullet from a Guardsman’s rifle passed through the sculpture, leaving a still visible bullet hole.
The events at Kent State were immortalized in Neil Young’s song “Ohio”.
