The District is Marshall’s “big box” district, with Shopko, HyVee grocery and a new Super Wal-Mart store occupying parcels in the general vicinity of the two important highways. Prior to the development of the Super Wal-Mart along Highway 59, the district was home to a 91,000-square foot Wal-Mart store. The store is now Runnings Farm & Fleet. The district also has an ample amount of raw land left to develop, so its status as the leading commercial node in the City will only heighten. The district also holds most of Marshall’s chain retailers with KFC, Perkins, A & W, NAPA Auto and others locating there. The district is mostly about pure retailing, as few service businesses and just a handful of offices are there.
