The Salomon Islands or (Salomon Atoll) is a small atoll of the Chagos Archipelago, British Indian Ocean Territory. Now uninhabited, it was settled with plantation workers in the late 18th century, and depopulated in 1971 when Britain evicted all Chagossians from the territory. There are 11 islands in the atoll.
