Akchira or Nerk'in Arjra (Armenian: Ներքին Արջրա, literally meaning: Lower Near Water) is a village near lake Van. Up to 1915-23 Armenian genocide this was Armenian village named Nerk'in Arjra, having Surb Astvatzatzin (Holy Virgin) church and three Armenian cemeteries. All now destroyed by Turks, no trace remained. Name Akchira is turkish transcription of name Arjra.
