This was built to hold a freshwater reservoir, and was part of a 1970s
feasibility study for an ambitious scheme which never happened.

  • I was told that it was an experimental sea defence wall of which many more could have been built to provide a man made barrier accross the wash. Apparantly there are rabbits there and no one knows how they got there?
