A Former Sitio of Barangay Bongdo, this Barangay derives its name from Barangay Bongdo (obviously), the word Bongdo means "mounds" in reference to the hilly terrain of the area. The second part of the name, Gua means "exit or go out" and when combined, it means that the "mounds" had "exited or gone out" from the parent Barangay of Bongdo, forming the present Barangay of Bongdo Gua.

It has an approximate population of 890 people and can be easily accessed via Barangay Laaw, but a route from Barangay Clavera, passing by Barangay Bili can also be taken, though it won't give you a direct and easy access to the Barangay.
