  • This information comes from the research of Bob Wirt. Severiano Chavarría was my great grandfather. The family lived in Fort Stockton, but economic development driven by the growing success of farming in the Castolon area spawned several settlements near it along the Rio Grande such as Buenos Aires, Ojito, and La Coyota. La Coyota attracted farmers from the Fort Stockton area. There are some erroneous reports that La Coyota was started by immigrants from Mexico.
