When the Pandava Prince threw his mace from the top of the Hill, forming the lake "Gadha Theertha" ('Gadha'='Mace' and 'Theertha'='Holy-water' in the Sanskrit Language) downhill, the soil of the spot where the lake now stands is said to have spread over a distance of Seven Miles, which is known as "Kodia Malai", now inhabited by wild animals and reptiles.
