The basket ball court was built in the Victory ground in 1985 or so. On one cold evening in 1988 an international game was held here. I believe it was Urkraine versus India. Needless to say, India got creamed playing 10 foot plus goras. Rajan was the captain of the Indian team.
Before the court was walled off and its floor cemented - a bunch of die hard hockey fanatics used the basket ball posts as goal posts to play short-hockey. But that was before the team decided to move to the Akkithimana halli stadium.
