The world-famous Crown Bar, a symbol of Belfast just like the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. Reputed to have survived 42 bombings during The Troubles. Its conspicuous charms are largely the result of diligent restoration work undertaken in 1885, 1981, and 2007, the last by the National Trust at a cost of £500,000. This latest restoration was the subject of a BBC NI documentary entitled Jewel in the Crown.
