Saint Hilarion Monastery ruins cover approximately five acres in this complex known in Arabic as Tel Umm Amer. It is believed to mark the birthplace of Saint Hilarion, a fourth century Christian monk, considered to be one of the founders of monastacism in the Holy Land.
