Knockchree is somewhat isolated from other peaks of the Mournes. The airfield of the Mourne Flying Club is situated on the flattish ground between Knockchree and Aughrim Hill.
Knockchree is the 959th highest summit in Ireland. Knockchree is the most southerly summit in the Mourne Mountains area.
