The Chrysler Building (built 1955-56) is a very large one-storey industrial warehouse building set far back from SW Marine Drive near the Fraser River.
Designed as the parts warehouse and regional offices for Chrysler Corporation of Canada (now Daimler Chrysler), the architect was William R. Souter.
The structure was mostly demolished in 2011, and all that stands now is the front wall & lawn, protected by a top-rating on Vancouver’s heritage register. The site has been rezoned to allow for the building of a retail complex centred around a large Canadian Tire store. The new store was designed by architect John Cheung.
