East Boldre Airfield area used between 1910 and 1918.
First used as an aerodrome on the 1st of May 1910, when William McArdle(of Bournemouth) and J.Armstrong Drexel(a US citizen), established the New Forest Flying School. The school closed at the end of 1911.
In November of 1915 the RFC occupied the site and used it as a training base known as RFC Beaulieu.
The RAF (renamed in April 1918) moved out in 1919 when the need for East Boldre ended.
