Fakhir Mergasori International School (FMIS) is a highly academic, non-selective, co-educational, English-medium, independent day school for students from the ages of 4 to 15 years. It provides top-quality education to children of different races, nationalities, and backgrounds. We believe we can add more value to students to enable them to perform to the best of their ability, gain entry to the most competitive universities and achieve success in their chosen career paths. The school allows students to acquire academic competence and interpersonal skills instilling in them high ethical, moral, and civic values.

FMIS was one of the first SABIS® PPP schools to open in Kurdistan. Located in Erbil, FMIS opened its doors in September 2008 to more than 300 children in Kindergarten through Grade 3. The school was named after the Kurdish martyr Fakhir Mergasori and solely serves the children of martyrs. Today, FMIS educates over 1,000 students in Kindergarten through Grade 9.
