The Hiroshima Peace Pagoda (Stupa) was completed in 1966. It commemorates lives lost in the Atomic-bomb blast on 6 August 1945, and contains gifts of Buddha’s ashes from the then Prime Minister of India and from Mongolian Buddhists.
