SP+ Parking Garage (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / West New York / New York City, New York / West 55th Street, 23-25
 Modern (architecture), parking garage

12-story Brutalist parking garage completed in 1966. Designed by Saltzman Gleckman Associates, it is faced in concrete, with an angular facade. Each of the concrete panels extends slightly outward from the façade to create a frame for a single-pane casement window and air-conditioning vents, both of which are slightly recessed from this frame. The angle of the panels is reversed on each successive floor, forming a zig-zag pattern. There are five openings on each floor. The ground floor has the garage entrance and exit at the east, and a storefront at the west, occupied by Green and Gold Land candy shop.
