 city gate  Add category

A heritage monument, three gates guarding the entrance to ancient Delhi. There is an adjoining set of three gates in Gur Mandi also, a few hundred meters away.

This is an old Historic gate on GT road, kindof a check point while kings used to rule here ....
Now its just a bottelneck for the heavy traffic that pass through GT road out of the 3 gates 2 are always under repair .... so you can see the 2 lanes merge to 1/2 lanes and hence traffic JAM ...

The Archaeological survey of india's People believe that this traffic jam is really needed as people could wait under it in their cars and enjoy these beautiful monuments

  • Later, the gt road was divided into two parts i.e., nh 1 - Delhi to Amritsar and nh 2 from Delhi to kolkata. Now it became shorter. Earlier the whole gt road was connecting Bangladesh and Afghanistan which includes India and pakistan
