Due to the overwhelming influx of families with children in Visitacion Valley, this school was built many years after the plans were first conceived. A pretty scary looking farm on this hill, built many years before was bought by the city of San Francisco and the school opened in the fall of 1971, the children of the area no longer had to make the trek westward over McLaren Park to Luther Burbank Junior High.
