Heilman Center is the University's central dining facility. It has an excellent reputation among students for offering a wide variety of cuisine, as well as comfortable surroundings, and has been designated a Virginia Green restaurant for its sustainability practices. Theme nights are common, and students enjoy "Midnight Munchies" during exam week each semester. The building also houses the University Post Office, the University Club, and a convenience store that caters to students. The Heilman Center, which opened in 1982, is named for E. Bruce Heilman, president of the University from 1971-1986. Extensive renovations were completed in fall of 2006, which vastly expanded the menu options available to students.
