Freeman Hall is an upper-class residence hall with single/double and double/double suites. Freeman is carpeted and air-conditioned. An Area Coordinator resides in Freeman. Freeman Hall was built in 1965 and renovated in 2008. It is named for Douglas Southall Freeman, a member of the Richmond College Class of 1904 and former editor of the Richmond News Leader. Freeman served as trustee from 1925-1950 and as rector from 1934-1950.
