Former ACE High Primary Control Center, callsign ALAZ. The site operated from 1966 through 1995 as a major telecommunications transmission and relay hub for NATO forces and was linked via a dedicated 218 mile RAF troposcatter link to the Swingate station in Dover. The site also had tropo links to the ACE High sites at Mont Florentin in France, Chièvres in Belgium and Aurich in Germany, as well as numerous microwave connections to nearby military facilities in the AFCENT-Germany network.
