Created in 2004, the 1,025-acre wilderness is jointly managed by the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources (KDFWR) and the Kentucky State Nature Preserves commission. It serves three goals: protect wildlife, provide open-space recreation and educate the population on the natural state.
