Anak Endau dam, constructed in 1985, forms part of the Rompin-Endau Agricultural Development Project, located in the State of Pahang and lies about 120km to the south of Kuantan. It is sited on the Sungai Anak Endau and about 0.5km upstream of the confluence with the Sungai Kepasir . It has catchment area of about 36sq.km and a gross storage capacity of 38Mcm at its full supply level which covers an area of 790Ha.

The dam has a live storage of 34Mcm to meet irrigation and domestic water supply demands. The reservoir will be used to regulate flows in the Sungai Anak Endau for the irrigation needs of some 4,200Ha of paddy land. Water is extracted via the Anak Endau weir. For domestic water supply, water is pumped directly from the reservoir to the JKR treatment plant adjacent to the dam. Presently, about 2.75Mld is tapped from the reservoir and it can be increased to 4.5Mld to meet future demands.

Anak Endau dam comprises a main earthfill embankment, a left bund, two saddle dams, a lined service spillway, an unlined auxilliary spillway and an outlet work.
