In the fictional DC Universe, Gotham City, the home of Batman is located in this area of Ocean County, New Jersey. This particular area, titled "Robbinsville", is in the Uptown section of Gotham, according to the DC Universe, but is really inside of Little Egg Harbor Township (look to the top right of the maps shown here). Nearby is Old Gotham and Crime Alley, located in the real-life Mystic Islands. Midtown is just south of Sprang River, the fictional name for the real-life Mullica River, while downtown exists in a wooded area in Galloway Township, in an area just east of historic Smithville.

Although some of the geography in Gotham dioffers a bit from the real area, Robbinsville is almost identical to this peninsula in Little Egg Harbor. While the map of gotham depicts Robbinsville to be a large, developed neighborhood with small skyscrapers and beach homes, it's only home to a single road, Great Bay Blvd (nicknamed Seven Bridges Road), which winds through marshes and nature preserves. The only signs of life are a few marinas and docks. Gotham's Cape Carmine does not exist but the Rutgers Marine Station is in its place.
