This is one of many Russian build bunkers that were part of the Molitov line. These were built in 1940-1941 to defend against a German attack. The opening salvos of Operation Barbarossa, where the Nazis attacked Russia were against these fortifications. The Nazis managed to breach the lines wthh very little difficulty.
