This area is a view of Bal Bhavan Society, New Delhi, India.
The society was founded after the idea of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India and further developed by Indira Gandhi. It transformed the life of many children in all aspects of mental and vocational development.
Children of all comunities and classes come here after school and paricipate in all kinds of games, sports(hockey, tennis, cricket etc.)and activites such as needle work, creative work, carpentry, leather work, pottery, weaving, electronics, scientific activities. It also boasts of a well equiped libary specially for children. It is one of the biggest library in Delhi. Children from all over Delhi come to read or issue books. Instructors(not teachers) take special interest in training children in a creative as well as scientific way.
Children are also called from every state to demonstrate and develop their skills.
The society has a toy train gifted by TELCO to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for children of the country. The steam locomotive has outlived its useful life and is scheduled to be replaced by another locomotive.
My working experience of 22 years in the institute has shown me how great the benefits of this institution are and I appreciate the efforts for the benefits that are being imparted to the future citizens of the country.
