record shop
Add category
The very first branch of the now (in)famous low cost record shop. Originally called A1 records (so as to be first in the telephone directory) and started in 1981 as a stall in a market, it moved to it's first permanent residence in Byres Road and renamed itself after a song by the Ohio Players. Initially an indie-orientated store much in the Rough Trade mould, it gradually reorientated itself into a seller of both indie and local and classics for under a tenner.
