As part of Rotary International Centennial, the Lawrence Rotary Clubs sponsored the devlopment of the Rotary Arboretum. The park was dedicated April 20, 2005. On September 30, 2006, the Westar Energy Green Team and the Lawrence Utilities Department dedicated a xeriscape garden, and Rotary Clubs announced the creation of Friends of the Arboretum. The park is located at 5101 Speicher Rd., near the Clinton Lake Softball Complex.
