The former mining community and now sparsely populated district of Stirling, Nova Scotia. A mine operated here in the 1930's, and later for a short time in the 1950's before coming to a complete halt in 1958. The Province of Nova Scotia has capped the mining site, after public saftey concerns arose over the two 200-foot open shafts which were no properly closed off after the mine closed.
