Lǚliáng is a hilly, prefecture-level city in the west of Shanxi province, People's Republic of China. Lüliang city is located in the western part of of Shanxi province, lying across the middle of the Luliang Mountains. An area covers 21143 square km, at the altitude of 1000-2000 meters and with a population of 3.83 million. The city's landscape is very typical of the loess plateau with many horizontal gullies, undulating hills and terraced fields.
