The Deutches Eck is the German Corner where the Mosel meets the Rhein, in Koblenz. There is a giant bronze statue of the German Emperor Wilhelm I. During WWII, the statue was destroyed. In 1953, Bundespräsident Theodor Heuss re-dedicated the monument to German unity. A Flag of Germany waved there since. In 1993, the flag was replaced by a copy of the destroyed statue.
