    Thal, a pious land of Lord Shiva ,is located in Pithoragarh district...it has been known for it's beautiful climate, greenery and historical fairs. It's situated at the bank of River Ramganga.

Thal fair is famous for its cultural and religious congregation of different class,community and cast.In my childhood days I used to visit Thal fair with my Boobu(Late Shri Bishan Singh Kanyal,Village Deoli. My uncle still lives at village Deoli. His Name is Shri Dewan Singh Kanyal.

    I visited the Thal fair in 1954 along with my Uncle, the late Parmanand Chachaji of Jagthali village. The fair used to be held during the night time. In the morning, when the fair was over, people used to prepare food themselves on the banks of the river Ramganga. There was a charming bridge also there. A memorable outing it was for me.
