The owners of the adjacent Cupka's Cafe II built an addition at 2312 East Carson in place of a demolished Dutch Colonial-style home. The building bears the name WORK and has a patio behind it. The owners had wanted the patio to be open to East Carson Street, but South Side residents and Pittsburgh's Historic Review Commission objected that the lack of a facade would mar the historic character of the streetscape.
