This site currently houses either the Headquarters of or else principal detachments of the following MoD units :

It is, however, the site for the proposed development of a new concentration of Defence Intelligence Service agencies in a brand new, purpose built, complex of buildings to be known as the Joint Forces Intelligence Group (JFIG). The project, currently known as the Programme to Rationalise and Integrate the DIS Estate (Wyton) [PRIDE (Wyton)], will enable Defence Intelligence, and the Intelligence Collection Group in particular, to further improve and enhance support to operations and strategic threat assessments.

The project will relocate the Headquarters Intelligence Collection Group (ICG -HQ) from Feltham, JARIC - the National Imagery Exploitation Centre - from RAF Brampton, as well as Headquarters Joint Aeronautical and Geospatial Organisation (JAGO - HQ) and 42 Engineer Regiment (Geographic) from Denison Barracks in Hermitage and Ayrshire Barracks in Germany, here to RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire.

As of 16 March 2012 the first 'Pathfinder Building' was officially opened, to house the new Defence Geospatial and Intelligence Fusion Centre (DGIFC) which will provide analysts with the opportunity to work in new collaborative ways, the first of its kind in the UK.

Skanska UK plc, under the supervision of Defence Estates, will construct a new complex of buildings to house approximately 1,100 Defence Intelligence employees in purpose-built accommodation. Additionally, new accommodation and messing facilities will be provided by Debut under the existing Single Living Accommodation Modernisation programme to provide modern quarters for single personnel who will live on site at RAF Wyton.

Other non-Defence Intelligence units currently located at RAF Brampton will also be relocated to RAF Wyton thereby enabling the sale of RAF Brampton, further contributing to the wider aim to reduce the MOD estate and drive down support costs. These include Defence Estates and the Defence Security Standards Organisation.
