The South Boston Maritime Park, at the intersection of D Street and Northern Avenue near Eastport Park, opened in June 2004. Designed by the landscape architecture firm of Halvorson Design Partnership of Boston, the park boasts a sizeable lawn, shaded sitting areas, extensive landscaping, a fountain, benches, public art, public restrooms, and a seasonal cafe serving breakfast and lunch.
