Formerly Kaiser Aluminum, the Halethorpe plant is the site of two 8,000 ton extrusion presses built for the government's Heavy Press Programme in the 1950's. These presses were and are primarily used in the aerospace sector to make things like missile bodies and other aircraft parts.
