Farallon Islands

USA / California / Bolinas /
island, archipelago, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, draw only border, national park

At least two documentaries on public television have shown how Great White sharks from all over the Pacific come to feast upon the abundant seals and sea lions which come here to breed. When the sharks go into the feeding-frenzy mode, the water looks like it's gone into a boil. This would not be such a good place to go swimming or diving.

The island group consists of North Farallon Island, Middle Farallon Island and South Farallon Island.

Speaking of diving, how many of the witnesses have tried..I have been diving at the Faralons for the last fifteen years, have been having some problems from the seals, sometimes from the other divers, but never from the sharks... Just know at any point, what you have came there for, what you diving for,and if you really have the right to be there...Than make your judgement,if you should or should not be there...Good luck...
