a lush palatial colonial times building.originally it was built for duke of connaught {son of queen}in brithish times when he visited meerut. he stayed here for around six months or so.he's the same man on whose name new delhi's connaught place is named.he donated profusely to lyaal library in town hall{now tilak library} and even donated a big table clock on which its clearly inscribed "gifted by duke of connaught" and its still there in the library.one of the halls of the library was named CONNAUGHT HALL.this building was later converted into a bank.
