The narrowest point of the Vouraikos gorge, crossed by the cog railway connecting the towns of Diakofto and Kalvryta. The train passes therough a bridge and an S-shaped tunnel. In the past the exit of the tunnel towards Kalavryta (south) was closed with doors to block the the dangerous passage. The doors, which are preseved have given this passage its name (greek "portes" = doors)
