Cardiff Central Fire Station serves the centre of Cardiff, one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, and covers the communities of Riverside, Grangetown, Butetown, Adamstown, Cathays, Atlantic Wharf, the City Centre, Cardiff Bay, Splott and parts of Roath. The estimated population of these areas is 63,000 people, within approximately 5 square miles.

Fire Fighters have responded to over 2000 emergency calls within the local community between April 2007 and March 2008.These have included domestic house fires, commercial property fires, the extrication of casualties from Road Traffic Collisions and dealing with chemical spillages. The dedication and professionalism of these men and women ensured that all these incidents were successfully dealt with.
