Elahije (Tehran)

Iran / Teheran / Tehran / Feresteh Avenue

Elahije is an upper class district in northern Tehran, actually a part of Scemiran. It is home to Tehran's most expensive real estate as well as the clubhouses of the Russia, Turkey, Germany, and Danish, Swiss, Belgian, Icelandic, Cuban and Finnish embassies.

The most famous part of the area is Frescte Avenue. This is where the newest buildings and many fashionable locales, including top-end shops and chichi cafes, can be found. Not everyone of course considers this part a desirable living place, since the traffic often gets gridlocked on summer nights, and the atmosphere is rather snobbily affected.

  • It used to be quiet and peaceful before the revolution with Gardens and cool air. Now it's a jumble of apartments and lots of traffic and smog!
