 temple, tower, church, evangelicalism

This is a Roman basilica with Gothic elements, built by Cystercian monks in the 13th century, and reconstructed after the fire in 1593.
It is situated in the middle of the bailey, and has three naves covered with ribbed vaults. It has a bulky tower with thick walls, about 50 m high, alongside four smaller towers in the corners. The tower was built on the west side of the central nave (the church has a basilical plan), so that the two aisles flank it on the right and left side respectively.
