Wuhan Tianhe International Airport (Simplified Chinese: 武汉天河国际机场; pinyin: Wǔhàn Tiānhé Guójì Jīchǎng) (IATA: WUH, ICAO: ZHHH) serves Wuhan, Hubei, People's Republic of China. The airport is located around 26 kilometres to the north of Wuhan city center and is one of the busiest airport of central China. Wuhan Tianhe International Airport was opened on April 15, 1995. Recent developments included the expansion of the airport terminal in order to accommodate the Airbus 380 jumbo jet as well as the construction of a second runway. It has also been selected to become the fourth international hub airport for China (after Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou). The name Tianhe (天河) can be translated as "Sky River".
